The last time I attempted to maintain a blog I failed in spectacular form. I was fairly dedicated for the first two weeks, which means I created two posts and then my dedication went AWOL. Over a two year period I might have posted a full dozen entries. With this blog, I'm going to make every attempt at improving my current track record, which should not be a difficult task. However, that doesn't mean I'm going to post something just for the sake of posting something. If I don't find it personally interesting, I don't expect anyone else to either. It's just like my paintings, if I'm not excited about them, I don't expect anyone else to be either. And so, with this first posting, this first foot step on a path that will contain many more, my blog journey begins.

Your expression and brushwork in your plein air painting is so inspiring. I come back to your YouTube video all the time to regain perspective of "why I paint" (good) vs. "what do other people want to see" (bad). I hope you find many future successful painting days (and more blog posts).
