The Story

Lebanon, IL
(1:30 - 2:15)

Painting at my parent’s home on Easter has become a tradition. My dad and I paint while my mom and my wife watch. At first I wanted to paint a small birdhouse that hung in a low dogwood, but after only fifteen minutes I realized that it wasn’t going to work and I needed to find something else. Turning around I spotted this scene and I knew I didn’t need to search any further. The next 45 minutes were spent painting, seeing how my dad was doing, and talking with my mom and my wife. It was a wonderful way to spend an Easter afternoon. Temperatures in the mid 70s with overcast skies and slight sprinkles.

"If yo
u see snow in the painting,
it means the artist was standing
in snow.
If you see rain in the painting,
it means the artist was getting
very wet."
