The Story

Columbia Bottom Conservation Area, St. Louis, MO
( 11:15 - 12:15 )

It felt and looked like it could start raining any minute, but the best the skies could muster up was only a few small raindrops. I certainly wasn’t complaining about the situation and had my fingers crossed the dry conditions would hold until the end of the day. However, I also had my fingers crossed that the threatening skies would hang around until I completed this painting and hopefully one more. It’s not that I necessarily like gloomy, dark clouds hanging over my head, I just liked the visual effects they tossed onto the landscape. Finally, my finger crossing paid off. Windy and temperature in the 80s.

in snow.
If you see rain in the painting,
it means the artist was getting
very wet."
