This purple martin birdhouse is in a prime location, surrounded by prairie rehab, next to a large water source. During the spring it would be at full capacity. This time of year there wasn’t a peep and the only things flying around were windblown fall leaves. I enjoyed the sense of animation they added to the scene, however, the ones that rustled up behind me sounded exactly like a person approaching and I would turn around to see who was there. After awhile I stopped turning and then nearly jumped out of my skin when someone said, “Are you using oils?” Very windy with temps in the upper 60s.
