The Story

Busch Greenway, Weldon Spring, MO
( 5:45 am - 7:30 am )

It was dark and I was the only one at the Greenway. I always feel a bit nervous in this situation - not so much about being accosted, although the hair on the back of my neck rose when something scurried through the tall grasses.  It’s more about the perception people will have about what I’m doing. Seeing a lone van, in the dark, with a bright light hanging over some mysterious looking piece of equipment will raise eyebrows and questions. 45 minutes into the painting a truck pulled in, stopped for a few minutes with its engine idling and then drove away. I hoped they were being curious and no one had called me in for suspicious behavior. Temps in the low 60s.

u see snow in the painting,
it means the artist was standing
in snow.
If you see rain in the painting,
it means the artist was getting
very wet."
