What intrigued me about this scene were the subtle variety of greens and tans that existed. I enjoyed seeing how the tiniest amount of red, blue or yellow could shift or bend them, and by adding the tiniest amount more, how easily they could be thrown out of harmony with the rest of the painting. It was a balancing act that required a great amount of concentration and daring. Next stop, Ringling Brothers.
